THE BASKETBALL PLAY DESIGNER
A basketball play designer for the players you actually coach. Draw a play, describe a situation to AI, and walk through the action one step at a time.

FROM IDEA TO DIAGRAM
Start with a half-court set, a baseline out-of-bounds play (BLOB), or a sideline out-of-bounds play (SLOB). Open any example and adapt it to your players.

A SIMPLE COACHING WORKFLOW
Where is the ball? Who is your best passer? Tell the AI your age group, time remaining, and what you want the first action to create.
Move players and draw cuts, screens, passes, and dribbles. Ask for a specific change with AI Refine, then inspect the result.
Step through the sequence, save your version, and share a diagram. Build the plays you keep into a team playbook.

DRAW IT. KEEP IT. TEACH IT.
A basketball play designer is an online coaching tool for drawing player positions, passes, cuts, screens, and dribbles on a court. HoopSketch adds AI-assisted drafting and step-by-step playback so youth coaches can turn a specific basketball situation into a sequence they can review, save, and teach.
Use the court as a digital coaching whiteboard. Start with a blank court or a starting set, move the players, and draw the actions in order. The four line types distinguish cuts, screens, passes, and dribbles so your diagram communicates what happens next.
Describe your roster, age group, ball location, and goal. Ask for a half-court set, an after-timeout idea, a baseline inbound, or a frontcourt sideline inbound. The current generator supports 5-on-5 offense for ages 10–14. Full-court press breaks and defensive rotations are outside its current scope.
Pause the play simulator and check each movement, pass, and destination. Refine one action at a time. Save your version to your account and use the individual image, print, and share tools to explain it to an assistant or your players. Playback illustrates your sequence; it does not simulate a reacting defense.
You can start drawing for free and try the available guest AI allowance. Create a free account to save your plays. The pricing page lists the current AI and saved-work limits for each plan.
