When to use it

Your team can make an accurate elbow entry and read whether the guard’s cutting lane is open against player-to-player defense.

Pass accurately, then change pace into the cut while keeping eyes on the ball.
The elbow receiver protects the ball with elbows close before feeding an open cutter.
Corner players hold wide spacing to prevent help defense from collapsing.

If 1's cut is contested, 5 holds the ball, 1 clears out to the open perimeter, and 5 can reverse the ball to 4 at the opposite elbow.

The guard cuts before the elbow receiver has secured the ball.

Rehearse the guard and one elbow receiver before adding corner spacing and guided defense.
